Welcome! This is the personal and professional Blog of Sara Sun. I want you to get to know me -maybe even make a connection. This blog is my attempt at letting you glimpse into my life, what I do, what I like, and what I love.
My photographic journey started with weddings some nine years ago. Ok, I'll admit it..weddings can still make me cry. What a joyous event that I get to be a part of. Sharing in the start of a couple's new life together is an honor and I believe, a responsibility. I am there to document what will become their shared history and years down the road, a fond memory made richer preserved in photos. Simply Sublime Wedding Pictures goal is to be unobtrusive, while artistically capturing the day.
Thanks to facebook, I stay in touch with many of my couples - many of which have entered the world of parenthood. Nothing prepares you for the rollercoaster ride that is filled with more joy than you can imagine, more guilt than you can handle and probably more worry than you thought possible. In 2006 I sat down, buckled my seat belt and here I am some 5 years later wondering how this little one is now about to start Kindergarten. I am acutely aware of the desire to stop time or at least slow it down for a little while. Oh, how those little fingers reaching out for my hand gets me! Sublime Photo Art captures all those fleeting smiles, mischievious glances, and belly laughs that even make me giggle. To heck with canned, fake smiles and stiff poses!!!
So, yes, I have 3 sites, but it's just me, Sara Sun :-) Hope you like what you see!

Had such a blast photographing the gorgeous Miss K yesterday. She is totally oblivious to her knock-out status. Didn’t she rock this boudoir shoot?!! Go head an give her some blog love. Let her know how she did. Hair and makeup by the fabulous Grace Mahoney of Blushing Brides.
I LOOOOVE LOVE LOOOVVVEEE, did I say LOOOOVVVVEEEE when clients really get into the vibe of the session and put these cool and hip outfits together. It really does MAKE the session!! I am super excited by this session and how all the elements came together. We had a blast cavorting about Natick Center, despite the cold weather. Hard to believe six years ago I photographed their wedding – man am I getting old! Thanks J + D, you guys are the best! 
It was my delight to be a part of John and Raceel’s intimate fall wedding on Saturday at the Wellesley College Club. The weather was just gorgeous – reason enough to celebrate – but lo and behold behind the Club is a gorgeous vista with lovely maples, a lake and blue skies for miles. Their outdoor ceremony was poignant and sweet followed by warm embraces from the very tight-knit family. Amidst tears of joy and laughter they said “I do”. Then we all went inside where friends and family toasted the happy couple. I grabbed them for some more fun photos with the foliage outside. I hope the photos show what a sweet, loving couple they are. Congratulations Raceel and John!
While I am deeply immersed in editing, I need to take a minute to blog. Yesterday’s session really stood out for me. Maybe it was the beautiful foliage, or maybe it was how nicely the colors all worked together. (For those of you with upcoming sessions, clothing can make or break a session!) It just seems like the quintessential fall family photo session and I think it all worked, albeit with lots of cajoling, crazy photographer antics, and even jerky treats for the dog. Would love to know your thoughts. Comments welcome!
Yup, after many months of blog neglect, I am back. What’s my excuse? Well I guess being a new homeowner has made my life busy, ok maybe busier than expected is a little more accurate. If you will, dear blog reader, kindly forgive me, I promise to show the blog more love. Now onto the subject at hand. It appears that it is time for my semi annual Fall Portraits in the Park. Again they will be at Elm Bank but there are a few changes to my packages so here you go. I expect spaces to fill quickly so give me a call and we will get you scheduled. BTW, sessions are 40 minutes this year instead of 30.
I really want to give a wedding away to someone that is really deserving of great wedding pictures!
I feel so blessed to do what I love and I want to share this gift with others. I am looking for a couple that feels they really deserve free wedding photography. There are a few simple rules to enter the giveaway:
* The couple has to be getting married in 2011 or 2012
* The wedding can be anywhere in the world. If the wedding is 60 miles outside of Boston, MA travel expenses must be paid by the couple.
* This contest is only available to new inquires.
* The couple will receive 8 hours of wedding day coverage with me and a second shooter. A disc with all of your images on
it plus your pictures will online for purchase.
* agree to allowing the use of the images for my website and for print and online marketing

One lucky couple will be chosen and the winners announced on May 1st, 2011.

Recently I was offered a fantastic opportunity – the chance to photograph a wedding in Aruba! And let’s be honest, of course, I couldn’t say no!!! Despite the worst rain in ten years, (yes, that’s right, ten years!!! and they say it never rains in Aruba?!!Hmph! 
It was a truly lovely, intimate wedding and Taylor and Geraint were the nicest couple. I couldn’t have been happier to share in their day. Here’s the album.
What could be better than some photos of your kids playing in the sand and sea? Bring the sunscreen and cute kids, I’ll bring the camera

Thanks to facebook I reconnected with one of my dearest childhood friends who now lives in England. Lucky me, I had the pleasure of photographing her adorable girls yesterday while they were visiting the States. Can you say Triplets!!! Not only are they the sweetest girls on the planet but add their very proper British accents and they are just the cutest!!! Thanks CB Family!!! It was so wonderful to see you.
What a beautiful day for Julia and her family. I’m not just talking about the weather, but about how much love and support was present for Julia on this special day. Her family was so proud of her and she was beaming. Congratulations Julia!
